Stephen has recently been commissioned by Radio 4 to write a companion piece to DOUBLE JEOPARDY about the collaboration between Raymond Chandler and Alfred Hitchcock. Called STRANGERS ON A FILM, it will be broadcast in the autumn alongside the second part of the CLASSIC CHANDLER season. Patrick Stewart is booked to repeat his role as Raymond Chandler.
My musical comedy Pick Yourself Up runs at the Queens Theatre Hornchurch from 4th to 26th March. PYU brings Moliere's farce, The doctor in spite of himself, into the world of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Al Capone and Sigmund Freud and adds songs by Cole Porter and Jerome Kern. With a talented cast of young actor/musicians. Details archived on the Queens Theatre Hornchurch website. With photos of the production and a series of excellent reviews.
Copies of the script are available from Valerie Hoskins Associates.

My online course THE CRAFT OF WRITING FOR RADIO starts in January 2011. This is the second time I've taught this introductory course which has been created in collaboration with New Writing South and the University of Sussex. Places can be booked via the New Writing South website.
UPDATE
I'm not planning to teach further courses for the moment but please see the entry for July 2nd 2013. Claire Grove and I have written a book for Nick Hern Books called SO YOU WANT TO WRITE RADIO DRAMA? It's due out on December 5th 2013 and we're planning a joint launch event with New Writing South on Saturday 30th November as part of NWS's Broadcasting Industry Day.
FURTHER UPDATE
Anna McGrail after a gap year will again be teaching the online Radio Drama course. Details on the New Writing South website.
In early November I start work as Dramaturg with Kinny and Krazy Kat Theatre on their new children's show The Sleeping Princess.
Paradise Towers is apparently finally scheduled for release in 2011. I have recently given an interview which will be used to accompany the release. I've also contributed to a running commentary which will be available as another add-on.
Thanks for comments. Richard Briers, Howard Cooke and Andrew Cartmel were I believe among those interviewed for the documentary.
The commentary I did with Mark Ayres, Judy Cornwell and Dick Mills, the guy responsible for the special sound effects.
Re Greatest Show in the Galaxy. No news yet of a DVD release though I'm told one is planned "in the next couple of years."
Re the music for PARADISE TOWERS. My understanding is that the DVD will offering a choice of hearing Keff's score or the original one which his replaced.
Re dates. I wish I knew when the PARADISE TOWERS dvd will be released. We've done the interviews and the commentary so hopefully it'll happen sometime within the next twelve months. I'm assuming that having done the research (and paid out modest sums of money) the powers that be won't let it sit on the shelves forever.
